The aim of the bachelor task will be to study the dynamical properties of a novel state of matter, the quark-gluon plasma, created in high energy nucleus-nucleus collisions at RHIC. The student will gain knowledge on the physics of high energy nucleus-nucleus collisions and heavy quarks that are used to probe the medium properties. The student will work on analysis of experimental data and simulations from the STAR experiment at RHIC.
